On 30.05.2024, a round table was held in the factory of the Schneider Electric Bulgaria company in Plovdiv, which brought together representatives of companies from the electrical industry, non-governmental organizations, teachers from TU Sofia - Plovdiv Branch and directors of vocational high schools in profile. The meeting was organized by the Bulgarian Association for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BASEL) and the "KVAZAR" Competence Center at the Institute of Robotics of the BAS.
Topics related to the business climate in the Plovdiv region and the personnel crisis were reduced in the discussion panel. The executive director of BASEL, dipl. Eng. Orlin Dimitrov, raised the issue of closer interaction between business and universities and vocational high schools.
The low prestige of engineering and technical professions in the field of electronics and electrical engineering was presented as the main problem. According to representatives of educational institutions, parents directing students to the recently fashionable specialty "Programming" underestimate the potential of the electrical industry.
The round table ended with a visit to the production base of Schneider Electric Bulgaria.
