On July 31, 2023, a meeting of BASEL representatives was held with the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth, Prof. Georgi Angelov. On behalf of BASEL, the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Eng. Dimitar Beleliev, CERB EAD, the Commercial Director of "Large Projects" at SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC BULGARIA EOOD, Vasil Nikov, and the Executive Director of BASEL, Orlin Dimitrov, took part.
During the meeting, the Ministry's priorities for promoting high-tech investments and projects, for financing the development and implementation of innovations, stimulating key sectors with high added value based on research and development activity were discussed.
The adoption of the Law on the Promotion of Scientific Research and Innovation (LPSRI) is pending, which will regulate all activities, incl. and the possibilities for joint developments with the participation of companies and research centers and for attracting personnel from third countries.
Prof. Angelov informed about the procedures under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) - the results of the completed "Technological modernization" procedure (BGN 247 million), as well as about the launched - Program for public support for the development of industrial areas, parks and similar territories and for attracting investments ( "AttractInvestBG") (BGN 212.5 million) and the procedure "Support for the transition to a circular economy in enterprises" (BGN 180 million).
The Ministry of Innovation and Growth sends a message to companies from the electrical industry to seek more active cooperation with educational institutions and to focus on creating centers for development activity.
The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) is expected to be transformed and its role as a promotional bank strengthened.
