The event will look at the latest trends and new technologies in the field of building energy efficiency
From May 31 to June 2, the national conference "Zero-energy buildings: The future is now" will be held at the "Flora" Expo Center in Burgas with the support of the Municipality of Burgas. Organizers of the event, which will also be broadcast online, are the Center for Energy Efficiency "EnEfect" and the Municipal Network for Energy Efficiency "EcoEnergy".
The conference aims to present the latest trends and new technologies in the field of energy efficiency of buildings and renewable energy sources. During its three days, important topics in this field will be discussed with the participation of specialists from Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Romania and the USA.
After an official opening on May 31 at 1 p.m., on its first day the conference will focus on training schemes and educational opportunities to support energy efficiency in construction, presenting the results of an analysis of the current state of the field prepared by the Chamber of builders in Bulgaria. A number of training and educational seminars and demonstrations will also be held, in which the participants in the parallel exhibition of specialized products and technologies will also be involved.
The second day will focus on the financing of zero-energy buildings and building renovation. Good practices from Europe and the US will be presented, with Meredith Evans from the US Department of Energy, Office Washington, and Doreen Bewott, the Romanian Council for Sustainable Development, author of one of the most successful green mortgage programs in Europe, speaking on the topic.
On the third day, the role of local authorities in the implementation of European and national climate and energy policies will be discussed, with a key focus being the possibility of securing financing for the preparation of municipal investment concepts with the help of the European Investment Bank.
The conference will be accompanied by educational seminars for designers, construction professionals, house managers and homeowners. The program also includes demonstrations and company presentations of the latest construction materials, products and technologies.
The organizers have also thought about the little ones and have prepared a special program for children with lots of games and entertainment. Children will immerse themselves in a story about the "House of the Future" and learn how they can build it in a way that protects the nature of the Earth.

The EnEfect Center for Energy Efficiency Foundation is a non-governmental non-profit organization founded in 1992 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Through intensive participation in international and national initiatives to improve energy efficiency, "EnEffect" has been supporting the efforts of the Bulgarian central and local authorities and the private sector for sustainable energy development for more than 30 years. About "EcoEnergy"
The Municipal Network for Energy Efficiency "EcoEnergy" is a non-profit association of Bulgarian municipalities for mutual assistance and joint actions in the formation of local policies for the effective use of traditional and alternative energy resources and for ensuring energy security and opportunities for sustainable development of municipalities. It was established as a voluntary informal association of non-profit municipalities in 1997 on the initiative of the mayors of 23 municipalities, and its first steps were supported by the American Agency for International Development. Ever since its creation, the activities of "EcoEnergy" have been coordinated by the Center for Energy Efficiency "EnEfect".
