Transformation and significance: Over 150 participants contributed to the successful holding of the "Electroindustry 2025" business forum in Sofia

The electrical industry in Bulgaria - transformation and significance. Under this motto, the "Electrical Industry 2025" business forum was held in Sofia. The organizers of the II-nd edition of the event were the Bulgarian Association of Electrical Engineering and Electronics (BASEL) and the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IANMSP).

The Business Forum "Electrical Industry 2025" is the most significant event for this industry, bringing together leading experts, managers, entrepreneurs and representatives of various companies from the electrical and electronics industry. Over 150 representatives of Bulgarian and foreign companies took part in this year's edition.

The participants were welcomed by H.E. Irene Maria Planck, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria, H.E. Paul Lambert, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Bulgaria, as well as Dimitar Beleliev, PhD, Chairman of the MB of BASEL.

The main focus of the forum was the transformation process in this dynamic sector and the development of the industrial society in Bulgaria. During the business forum, the participants in the various panels focused on topics such as circular economy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, etc. The latest trends and challenges facing the Bulgarian electrical industry were discussed.

The Annual BASEL Awards for 2024 were presented within the framework of the business forum. The Grand Prize for Outstanding Achievements "Company of the Year 2024" was awarded to Schneider Electric Bulgaria EOOD, the "Society Responsible Company 2024" award was awarded to Nikdim OOD, the "Partner Organization 2024" award was awarded to the QUAZAR Competence Center at the Institute of Robotics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the "Journalistic Contribution 2024" award was awarded to Tsvetelina Sokolova from Mediapool.bg.

The electrical industry, as a sector with a long history and traditions in the Bulgarian economy, encompasses all aspects of the electrical, electronic and related industries. This sector is high-tech, has a rich and dynamic portfolio and plays a significant role in the technological progress and export potential of Bulgaria. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the volume of production in this branch, which now accounts for about 10% of the entire Bulgarian processing industry. In terms of generated exports, the sector contributes the most, with its share of Bulgaria's total exports reaching approximately 11%

Bilateral business meetings and networking were held within the framework of the forum, providing optimal opportunities for establishing new business contacts and building partnerships, presenting new technological solutions of companies and exchanging experience with representatives of leading Bulgarian and foreign companies.
