The Swiss model of dual vocational education – in the focus of Bulgarian institutions, municipalities and business organizations
In the period 19–22 May 2026, the Executive Director of BASEL Orlin Dimitrov was part of a Bulgarian delegation for a study visit to Switzerland under the DOMINO 2 program — “Mass introduction of dual vocational education and training in Bulgaria”. The visit was held within the framework of the Second Swiss Contribution to the Enlarged European Union and was aimed at presenting the Swiss model of dual vocational education and training, good practices for system management, active business participation and support for young people with specific needs.
The DOMINO 2 program is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of Swiss partners — the Swiss Federal University of Vocational Education and Training SFUVET, the specialized center for vocational training CFPS Le Repuis, the Department of Educational Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich ETH Zurich, as well as the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. The main objective of the program is to support the building of sustainable capacity for the implementation of dual vocational education and training at all levels - both in the public and private sectors, while at the same time contributing to the better realization of young people in the labor market.
