Bulgarian-Slovenian business forum with bilateral meetings, 27.02.2024, Royal Hall of Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel (formerly Sheraton Hotel), Sofia

27February

Dear BASEL member companies,
Dear BASEL partners,
Dear ladies and gentlemen,

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, Mrs. Natasha Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, is coming to our country on a state visit from February 26-28. She will be accompanied by over 30 representatives of the government, companies from various sectors of the Slovenian economy, local business organizations, etc.

The Republic of Slovenia joined the European Union in 2004 and adopted the euro in early 2007, contributing to the country's great economic growth. The current gross domestic product per capita is 84%, which is the EU average. Despite going through a difficult and risky path, Slovenia successfully integrated economically with Europe and is now the richest country of the former Yugoslav republics. Almost 2/3 of the working population is employed in the service sector and almost 1/3 in industry and construction.

Taking advantage of the challenges of this visit, the traditional contacts and cooperation with Slovenian business, as well as the wider opportunities for the export of Bulgarian goods and services in this market, on February 27, 2024 in the city of Sofia, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), in partnership with Spirit Slovenia, organize a Bulgarian-Slovenian business forum with bilateral meetings between business representatives from both countries.

It is expected that the business delegation from Slovenia will include companies from the following sectors of the economy - automotive industry, defense, energy, information and communication technologies - artificial intelligence (AI), space research and technology, cosmonautics, etc.

The purpose of the business forum is to create direct business contacts between companies from both countries, to get to know the specifics and opportunities of the business environment and to search for opportunities for joint actions for a successful presentation in the European Union and, if possible, in third countries. As a final result, expectations are related to activation of trade between Bulgaria and Slovenia, as well as stimulation of joint trade and investments.

I hereby have the pleasure to invite you to the upcoming Bulgarian-Slovenian business forum with bilateral meetings, which will be held on 27.02.2024 at 3:30 p.m., in the Royal Hall of the Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel (former Sheraton), Sofia.

If interested, pre-registration of the event profile on www.b2bconnect.bg should be done by February 23, 2024. The program of the event will be additionally sent to the registered participants of the event.
